“My goal was to elevate this French Normandy style home’s kitchen, the hub and heart of this family’s home. The backdrop consists of creamy painted cabinets with aged iron hardware, an antique inspired stained island topped with an extra thick slab of Danby Imperial and aged brass and glass pulls. The missing piece was a backsplash material that could stand up to the domineering existing multicolored terra cotta floor. The terra cotta and charcoal pattern balances the weight of the floor tile and wraps the room in a warm and inviting wash of color and intriguing pattern.”

“This cottage inspired design was a custom tile experiment created by Becky and Suzanne of Pasadena Ave Design and Craftsman Court Ceramics. The soft palette of various grays and sepias came out more beautifully than expected, elevating the whole kitchen and providing a perfect compliment with white subway tile. The client loved it!”
